A company spokesperson said Delphk has a very extensive safetyproducrt list, but the product line engineered in Vandalia is not competitive on a global basis. Delphi had 10,00 0 local employees in 2002, according to Daytobn BusinessJournal research, but has slashing jobs and abandoning facilities across the Dayton region.
Delphui has about 800 jobs remaib in theDayton region. It was formed in 1999 when GM) spun off its parts manufacturing division. Although it is GM’as largest supplier, Delphi filed for Chapter 11 bankruptchy protection inOctober 2005.
